The manual describes how to facilitate an organization to develop, expand and improve itself and become an independent well functioning and learning organization.
The process consists of:
- Pre-selection. To get a first idea of the organization's potential.
- Intake. (a) Invitation, (b) Desk review of the request, (c) E-mail interviews with stakeholders. Subjects: finance, governance, legal status, track record, clients satisfaction, concepts, technologies, methodologies.
- Training of managers to build up their managerial and leadership skills and assess their potential.
- Facilitate an organization self-assessment through exercises, discussions, investigations and reviews with stakeholders.
Activities:
- Determine Vision and Mission
- Investigate target groups
- Re-assess Vision and Mission
- Analyze Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT)
- Assess: governance & leadership, staff & volunteers, members, finance, logistics, projects, external relations, accountability, output, impact
- Facilitate organization development planning: strategy, improvement activities, time schedule, budget.
- Facilitate organization development: training and coaching of development following the planning, and monitoring and evaluation of the development versus the planning.
