The main pump we currently promote is the Rope pump. This pump can be produced locally and can be operated and maintained by the owners themselves at a low cost. The companies producing the Rope pump can also execute large repairs whenever required. This makes the Rope pump a very sustainable pump. The Rope pump is also energy efficient - it requires relatively little energy to pump up a certain amount of water. This is the reason that the Rope pump is also very suitable for small scale irrigation. Another hand pump we will start using in the future is the EMAS pump. We have made production manuals for two types of Rope pump. Also a manual for the training and coaching of rope pump producing company staff and the quality control of produced rope pumps will be made.
